Last December 18, at 21:00 hours in the Arturo Prat square, the Municipality of Panguipulli carried out the lighting of the ecological Christmas tree that has become a tradition, which is made with more than 40 thousand recycled aluminum cans. The project carried out by the city’s municipality aims to encourage recycling among residents and promote a sustainable mentality in the area.
The leader of the proposal in the commune of Panguipulli is Pedro Burgos Vásquez, the mayor, who explained that the responsibility for building the tree falls on various divisions of the municipality, such as the Department of Cleanliness and Ornamentation. This project follows the philosophy of recycling and sustainability that characterizes the community.
“This year the decision was made to build a Christmas tree with 40,000 recycled aluminum cans, which will allow us to have a tree that reflects the Christmas spirit, but also the sustainable look that we have in the commune”, said the political responsible.
“I appreciate the work of the teams that have worked on this tree, so I invite all neighbors to the lighting of this tree next Monday, December 18 in Arturo Prat Square,” reiterated Mayor Burgos.
Every year, during the Christmas season, a tradition is carried out in the commune where officials from the Municipal Works Department and the Department of Sanitation and Ornamentation join together to build a Christmas tree.
The Municipality of Panguipulli is making efforts to promote sustainability and recycling in the commune through an initiative that consists of recycling all the cans used in the project. After use, the cans will be properly recycled as part of this solidarity action.
