“ORG Ledong” awarded its scholarships last December. The “ORG Ledong” scholarship project, established by ORG at BIGC (Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication), is a special charitable initiative designed to support exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence, good moral character and self-motivation, despite facing economic hardship. The timely award of this scholarship underscores ORG’s commitment to training and developing talent for the industry. By allowing students to focus on their studies and growth, and by continually providing talented individuals to the industry and the country, ORG demonstrates its social responsibility as a leader in the metal packaging industry through concrete actions.
The ceremony was held on December 11, 2024 at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC), bringing warmth and hope to students during the winter season. The event was attended by Chen Ying, general manager of ORG Group’s Human Resources Management and Administration Center; Zhang Gaimei, party secretary of BIGC’s School of Printing and Packaging Engineering; Qi Yuansheng, dean of the school; Zhao Yuan, director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Wang Binglan, deputy party director of the School of Printing and Packaging Engineering; and Zhang Fubin, director of the Office of Student Affairs.
This year, the “ORG Ledong” scholarship was awarded to a total of 12 students. Dean Qi Yuansheng highlighted the importance of the event, noting that it not only helps underprivileged students overcome financial obstacles in their education, but also fosters cooperation and exchange between school and enterprise in industry-university-research collaborations. These collaborations, he added, will help more students secure job opportunities in the future.
The student representative expressed sincere appreciation to ORG for its emphasis on training talent in the printing and packaging industry. He stated that the scholarship represents an affirmation of the students’ achievements and helps them clarify their career direction. He further noted that the students will value every opportunity, continually accumulate experience and lay a solid foundation for their future in the packaging industry.
During the ceremony, Chen Ying interacted amicably with the students, sharing insights into ORG’s development. Over the past 30 years, ORG has experienced significant growth from a team of a dozen people to a workforce of more than 4,000 employees. The company has evolved from producing three-piece cans to offering a diverse range of products and services, including two-piece cans and filling services. This transformation has positioned ORG as a comprehensive provider of packaging solutions for its customers. In addition, ORG has adopted a close service model, continually meeting the changing needs of its customers.
ORG’s products have steadily improved in “visible” aspects, such as can shape and printing, and in “invisible” aspects, where the company remains at the forefront of the industry. This includes the application of thinner metallic materials, the development of rolled steel, the study of migration of harmful substances and shelf life extension. By focusing on these areas, ORG seeks to achieve international leadership in metal packaging, while ensuring the sustainability, safety and environmental friendliness of its products.
