Tailor-made packaging for electric vehicle batteries

As the automotive industry evolves to produce more electric vehicles, ORBIS is at the forefront of designing protective packaging to keep parts moving efficiently through the supply chain. With this, ORBIS can partner with battery suppliers to create custom solutions that exceed federal regulations and perform all the performance testing necessary to be a one-stop shop for large format battery suppliers.

Electrostatic discharge protection (ESD) solutions

ORBIS helps customers protect sensitive electronic parts from static discharges. The ESD protection material will transfer the load through the container, keeping your products safe during transport. The two main materials used are conductive material and static dissipative material. The electrical properties of this material are permanent and are not affected by washing. ESD-safe material is available on all ORBIS StakPak® foldable hand-held containers. Standard sizes are available in both AIAG and metric sizes and are compatible with ESD-safe caps.

ORBIShield dunnage

ORBIShield is a line of ORBIS dunnage material that protects parts during transit, assembly and storage. Using a variety of foam, rigid and fabric materials, ORBIShield dunnage materials are custom designed to protect unique vehicle parts. Examples include divider sets, hanging bags, foam packs and inserts that can be installed in standard containers, boxes and racks. In addition to protecting products at all stages of the supply chain, dunnage materials also help improve packaging density. Long-term implementation of ORBIShield dunnage will improve inventory control by maintaining consistent quantities in each container and optimize line efficiency by facilitating the removal of handling parts.

StakPak portable containers

StakPak portable containers have been helping OEMs and suppliers reduce costs, drive sustainability and optimize the automotive supply chain for three decades. Compatible with a wide variety of pallets and top lids, these containers are designed for just-in-time applications where the same containers are used for shipping, storage and work-in-process. Smooth, straight interior walls offer maximum cube utilization and are easily coupled with custom protective dunnage materials to reduce damage to parts. The StakPak Plus™ container adds various neck sizes to increase the height of a container and accommodate uniquely shaped parts often found in industrial and automotive supply chains.
