OneDayMore, which manufactures and processes breakfast grains such as muesli and rolled oats, had a sustainable vision when it came to changing its packaging. Led by Wojciech Mlodawski, its goal was to create containers created with the most environmentally friendly materials, while encouraging recycling for consumers. He stated: “We wanted to make it simple for anyone who buys our products to recycle as soon as they have finished using the cereal.”
Bottling company OneDayMore no longer uses Sonoco’s metal-bottomed containers, but has decided to switch to paper-bottomed ones called ‘EnviroCan’ in 13 European markets. This is part of their goal for 2024, which is to have all their packaging made only from environmentally friendly materials such as paper.
Mateusz Kurij of Sonoco expressed his pride in being part of OneDayMore and contributing to the environment with its packaging solutions. In terms of consumer perception, Mlodawski mentions that the conversion to paper-bottom packaging for greater sustainability was well received.
In Mlodawski’s opinion, working with Sonoco was very rewarding for the container repacking process. The company stood out for its quality and commitment to on-time deliveries, and they also appreciated the flexibility shown by Sonoco in the production schedule and volumes manufactured, which allowed them to better adapt to variations in their production plans.
