Olvi Group, one of Finland’s largest beverage producers, has acquired Värska Originaal AS, Estonia’s leading mineral water producer, as part of its strategy to expand its portfolio of non-alcoholic beverages in Europe.
The operation strengthens Olvi’s presence in European markets and responds to the growing demand for healthy and alcohol-free products. The integration of Värska Originaal is expected to increase the group’s production capacity and expand its range of non-alcoholic products by 10%, improving its profitability and export reach.
The agreement was announced on September 15, 2025, and is scheduled to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to approval by the Estonian competition authorities. Värska Originaal has approximately 70 employees and produced around 45 million liters in 2024, exporting mainly to Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, and Ireland.
Founded in 1993, Värska Originaal has roots dating back to 1973 and manufactures natural mineral waters, infused waters, and functional waters, operating in the Värska region, southeastern Estonia.
Patrik Lundell, CEO of Olvi Group, emphasized that the acquisition represents a key step in the group’s multilateral growth strategy, focused on diversifying its portfolio and increasing the proportion of non-alcoholic beverages.
