Novelis achieved a 27 % reduction in absolute carbon emissions in FY2024 against its FY2016 baseline (includes Scopes 1, 2 and 3). The company also achieved an average of 63 % recycled content in its rolled aluminum products in FY2024, recycling more than 2,300 kt of aluminum, including 82 billion used beverage cans. The company believes these achievements place Novelis at the forefront of the aluminum recycling industry. These are the data extracted from the latest sustainability report, made public in recent days.

Every day we make tremendous efforts to fulfill our purpose of shaping a sustainable world together.”


In addition to achievements in absolute carbon reduction and average recycled content, the report highlights other advances, including:
⦁ Decrease carbon emissions intensity by 28 % from FY 2016 baseline.
⦁ Reduce intensity of waste sent to landfill by 8.8% from FY2020 baseline
⦁ Donate $8.7 million to charitable causes
⦁ Complete allocation of $588 million in green bond funds
⦁ Complete three large-scale investments in solar power
To accelerate its sustainability efforts, the company recently announced Novelis 3×30, a business vision to promote aluminum as the material of choice for circular solutions and accelerate the company’s decarbonization and circularity efforts. Under 3×30, Novelis aims to achieve three ambitious goals by the end of 2030:
⦁ Achieve an average of 75% recycled content in its products;
⦁ Be the supplier of flat-rolled aluminum products with the lowest emissions, with less than 3 tons of CO2e per ton of flat-rolled product (FRP) shipped; and
⦁ Continue to lead the industry toward circularity through pioneering investments.
