From 680,000 to 750,000 tons per year. This is the significant leap in aluminum sheet rolling capacity that the multinational Novelis will implement at its Brazilian plant in Pindamonhangaba, until mid-2024. This new investment package will considerably boost the company’s sheet metal production capacity, since, according to the company, this plant is considered the largest aluminum rolling and recycling complex in South America.

Novelis’ president in South America, Francisco Pires, emphasizes that “Novelis always invests ahead of market demand to ensure plate supply and support the growth of its customers’ businesses. In 2021, Novelis completed the expansion of the complex, which increased production and recycling capacity by 100,000 tons per year each. With the approval of this new investment, we will add another 70,000 tons to aluminum foil production capacity. The project starts immediately.

The third is focused on innovation with the implementation of a CSC (Customer Solutions Center). This space will be located in São José dos Campos and is scheduled to open in the second half of this year. Finally, companies in the sector will be able to count on support in can design, carbon footprint reduction projects, tool development, technical and laboratory evaluation and analysis, among other services.
