The Global Recycling Foundation announced the ten winners of the Heroes of Recycling 2024 award to mark the seventh annual World Recycling Day on March 18, 2024. This year, Nicola Jones, steel packaging recycling manager at Tata Steel UK, was the only recipient from the United Kingdom.
The Global Recycling Foundation supports the promotion of recycling and the recycling industry worldwide to showcase its vital role in preserving the future of the planet.
Nicola’s award recognizes her dedication to promoting steel packaging recycling throughout her 25-year career at Tata Steel UK. As a member of numerous advisory and strategic groups, she has used her expertise to influence recycling and packaging policies and regulations across the UK. Nicola developed Tata Steel’s education program, which delivers workshops in schools, colleges and universities focused on recycling for sustainability.
