The British Salcombe Brewery Co. announced the launch of its new product, named Maya (ABV 4.5%). It is a new Chocolate Stout and is now available on draught in pubs from late in cans (330ml x 12 for £25.00) in retail outlets and from their website.
Specifically, the Maya can (4.5% ABV) is a chocolate stout, created by adding cocoa nibs during the brewing process. The caramel and coffee notes of the malt blend perfectly with the rich chocolate flavor of the cocoa nibs, resulting in a smooth chocolate stout. It is a dark, warm beer ideal for cooler autumn evenings, and could be a good partner with autumnal stews.
“We are very excited about this latest addition to our small batch range. For the ancient Maya, the cocoa bean was sacred. They were obsessed with its rich chocolate flavor and believed it was a gift from the gods. This was our inspiration for our new dark beer that we have infused with organic cocoa beans to add depth and complexity.“concluded head brewer Sam Beaman.
