Nespresso, pioneer and benchmark of top quality portioned coffee, has announced its global certification as a B Company. In this way, the Swiss-based brand joins an international movement of more than 4,500 certified companies globally, 852 in Latin America and 168 local companies specifically oriented to meet the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility and transparency.
To become a B Company it is necessary to meet a number of requirements including an exclusive approach to coffee sourcing through the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program designed in partnership with the Rainforest Alliance, its strategic alliance with Fairtrade and the brand’s global recycling scheme for its aluminum capsules.
Guillaume Le Cunff, CEO of Nespresso, points out that “the Company B certification reflects Nespresso’s 30-year commitment to sustainability, transparency and responsible business. This certification brings added value to our customers and reaffirms to Nespresso fans that their favorite coffee brand is doing business the right way”.
Nespresso will add the “Certified Company B” logo to the brand’s products and communications to help spread the word about the movement, educate consumers and help them take more sustainable paths in their purchasing decisions.
