More than 300,000 children have attended ARPAL’s workshops in its 30-year history, according to the Association for the Recycling of Aluminum Products. This is a figure that has been made known on the occasion of the week of Environmental Education. In addition, they state that more than 75% of the aluminum produced more than 100 years ago is still in use, thanks to recycling
ARPAL’s main objective is to promote the identification of aluminum containers and how essential it is to recycle them by taking them to the yellow container.
ARPAL has worked throughout Spain establishing alliances, many of them with social insertion entities, to develop a large number of projects throughout Spain. They also collaborate with school and academic entities such as universities, schools, children’s education centers, etc., to spread the message of aluminum container recycling and develop educational units and workshops endorsed by the educational community.
One of the most important strategies is “DIDI”: Direct Didactics, which means direct training of trainers throughout Spain, preparing and distributing didactic guides on aluminum so that they, in turn, can promote the recycling of this material.
