Leading European producer and supplier of aluminum aerosol cans Moravia Cans recently announced an ambitious expansion plan with the start-up of a new can manufacturing line. Specifically, the leading Czech manufacturer has just further expanded its DWI can capacity with a new line installed at its Bojkovice facility, and also plans to upgrade its impact extruded can operations.
As a leading European producer and supplier of aluminum aerosol cans with more than 50 years of experience in this field, the company specializes in the production of aluminum monobloc cans as well as extruded and drawn aerosol cans for the cosmetics industry and other sectors.
Founded in 1992, Moravia Cans is headquartered in Bojkovice, Czech Republic and currently has a high-speed line production capacity of more than 550 million cans per year. The company is also committed to investing in sustainability, innovation in the design and manufacture of aluminum packaging.
The long history of Moravia Cans began in 1962, when the company was established in the former Czechoslovakia as a manufacturer of aluminum tubes and aerosols. In the 1990s, the company was privatized and began to develop as a supplier to the European market in general. Having focused solely on the production of monobloc aluminum aerosols, Moravia now produces cans for most of the world’s best-known organizations, including Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Henkel.
According to its general manager, Martin Boaler “the first years after the acquisition were ones of consolidation, but, over the last 20 years, we have invested more than 120 million euros in expanding the business and its technical capabilities. We have grown from two production lines to ten production lines and have progressively increased our sales, so that we are now approaching 100 million euros. Unusually, for a supplier from a low-cost manufacturing base, in that time we have also become the recognized technology leader and product leader in our market segment.”
In many ways, Moravia has revolutionized modern aerosol can design. Martin suggests that concepts such as full-body deep modeling and patented 360° embossing have been added to high-quality printing to enable the production of customizable cans and a wider variety of brand and product design options.
“We now have the ability to create a wider range of products, with much greater differentiation in shape and print. This allows for much clearer brand recognition around the package itself and combats counterfeiting very effectively.”
concluded the executive.
