Two iconic Australian companies: The Original Juice Company and SPC Global are merging, along with the milk powder business of a third Australian company, Nature One Dairy, to create a single leading food and beverage conglomerate. These brands are well known on the continent.
Robert Iervasi, former CEO of Asahi Beverages Group and current director of SPC, has been appointed CEO of the merged company, which will own and operate three business divisions: SPC, The Original Juice Co. and Nature One Dairy.
SPC is an iconic Australian brand and is the largest producer of fruit, tomatoes, baked beans and spaghetti, as well as processing, packaging and preserving in Australia. It has some of the country’s most recognizable food brands, including SPC, Ardmona, Goulburn Valley, ProVital, Pomlife, The Good Meal Co. and Street Eats, feeding Australian families for more than 100 years.
The Original Juice Company is a processor specializing in refrigerated fruit and vegetable juices. Founded in 1988, it has maintained a commitment to sourcing local fruit and producing fresh juice daily for over 30 years. Using a mix of conventional and custom equipment, OJC produces high quality juices, fibers, infused fruits and fruit waters for domestic and international markets.
Nature One Dairy, meanwhile, is a Singapore-registered dairy company founded in Australia that manufactures and sells premium infant formulas, nutritional formulas and milk powder products. With an established sales and marketing presence in Australia, China and other Asia-Pacific markets, products are sold under the Nature One Dairy brand. Nature One Dairy’s international market presence provides a platform for additional inorganic growth for the combined company through product diversification and access to the Asian distribution market.
Together, the three companies create a substantial Australian-based global food and beverage group that will continue to support Australian producers and execute a global growth strategy.
About the merger
The Original Juice Company will acquire SPC Global and the milk powder business of Nature One Dairy through a binding Merger Implementation Agreement and Share Sale Agreements, subject to various conditions, including Original Juice Co. shareholder approval in November 2024.
The ultimate goal is to create ‘better, healthier foods for the future’. Since the acquisition of SPC from CCA, our strategy has been to firmly establish our position as a leader in both Australian and global markets. Building a strong foundation in our home market is vital for sustainable growth and success, the new conglomerate’s management said.
