Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats (MCD&T) Europe will add canned versions of two of its chocolate beverages to meet consumer demand for more environmentally friendly products.
The company made the decision to try to design recyclable packaging that is easy to dispose of, as part of an effort to preserve the environment. If it works, they will surely apply this same strategy to other versions, such as the 350 ml sports bottles that already exist.
According to Michelle Frost, head of Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats, the company is finding new forms of packaging with the goal of creating more sustainable products for consumers. “The can has become a very popular format for beverages, especially because of its portability and durability. Expensive packaging will no longer be necessary, but just by having the product in plain sight, you can take it home and enjoy a nice break at leisure.”The board remarked.
