The typical aluminum cans we find in supermarkets are usually full of oil, which significantly reduces the space for food inside. More oil means less fish. It’s logical. A movement has emerged on TikTok that asks packagers to reduce the amount of oil in the can in exchange for more product.

In traditional 500-gram cans, what we actually find are 325 grams of tuna, with the rest being occupied by oil. However, if we buy tuna in aluminum pouches, we find 475 grams of tuna, compared to the 325 grams in traditional cans.
