“Each year, our company continues to demonstrate its commitment to transparency and performance on climate change, which has led us to receive recognition from CDP, an environmental non-profit organization. Our inclusion on their prestigious “A List” demonstrates our leadership on this issue. In fact, according to data submitted by Trivium through CDP’s Climate Change 2023 questionnaire, we are one of the few companies to earn an “A” rating out of more than 21,000 companies evaluated.” the company said.

The use of CDP scores is very important in making investment and procurement decisions towards a more sustainable, resilient and zero-carbon economy. This organization uses an independent and detailed method to evaluate companies, giving them a grade ranging from A to D- based on their level of environmental disclosure, awareness and risk management, as well as their demonstration of leading environmental practices, such as setting ambitious and meaningful goals.

Trivium’s inclusion on the CDP A-List demonstrates its commitment to data quality and its ability to provide a global perspective on the environmental impact in its value chain. Being a leader in environmental transparency is only the first step towards more relevant and effective action in this area.

The year 2023 will see record-breaking temperatures across the globe, as well as extreme weather events and unprecedented losses for nature, people and businesses. According to Jenny Wassenaar, Trivium’s Director of Sustainability, companies have a key role to play in combating climate change and protecting the environment, but they cannot take action if they do not know the scale of the problem. For this reason, they are proud to have been included in the CDP A List for their commitment to transparency in terms of their environmental impact.

Following TCFD guidelines, CDP has the most extensive environmental database in the world. By 2023, more than 740 financial institutions with a total of over $136 trillion in assets required companies to provide information on their environmental impacts, risks and opportunities through the CDP platform.

CDP CEO Sherry Madera praised all the companies that made the 2023 A-List and made special mention of those that took their first steps or accelerated on their path to environmental transparency. Madera noted that there was a 24% increase in disclosures in the previous year and considered it important for companies to establish a solid foundation for disclosure, demonstrating their commitment to an emission-free and nature-positive future. Being recognized on the A List is not just a score, but an indication of comprehensive, high-quality data that helps companies better understand their environmental impact, establish transition plans and move towards their ambitious goals.
