Silgan Containers has been one of the corporations to announce temporary layoffs at three manufacturing plantsin California, two located in Modesto and one in Antioch, affecting 186 employees.
WARN’s Aug. 13 notices indicated that the first layoffs are occurring at a Modesto facility beginning Oct. 13; 72 employees will be affected. Layoffs at a separate Modesto location are scheduled to begin Oct. 20, where 70 employees will be affected. Layoffs at the Antioch location are scheduled to begin Oct. 14 and impact 44 employees.
