February kicks off with news for Latamcan 2022. Three and a half months ahead of a new international congress, which will take place in Brazil from May 11-13 in the city of Sao Paulo, the canmaking trade show has announced the two winners of its Lifetime Achievement Award 2022. This year’s awards went to Jim Sterling and Antonio Galhardo.
The first of the awardees, Jim Sterling began his work with Owens Illinois in May 1975 where he held various positions until 1980. In October of that same year, he began working with Miller Brewing Co. in Moultrie, Georgia until 1992 as Production Supervisor. He then began working with Reynolds Metals Co. also in Moultrie as a Production Supervisor and moved to Richmond, Virginia with the same company where he held the position of Technical Service Manager until 2000.
The second recipient of the second Lifetime Achievement Award 2022, Antonio Galhardo is a chemist who has been working for more than 40 years with 2- and 3-part Can Coatings (R&D, Technical Assistance and Manufacturing Processes) in Brazil, South America and Asia.
He also has extensive experience in multinational companies and now works in ACTEGA do Brasil, with R&D, Technical Assistance, Manufacturing Processes, New Applications and New Products for Can Coatings.
