Krones was recently honoured with two awards in the Industrial Product Design category of the German Design Award Special. The Krones company was recognized for its Contiform Blowing System and its Mobile Production Robotics system.
Specifically, the German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world, and enjoys an enviable reputation far beyond specialized circles. The mobile robotics system helps operators supply materials to the filling and packaging lines. In one of these applications, it is used for automatic filling of film reels on balers.
In this way, line owners can save costs and have greater flexibility in their production by replacing manual labor with automated tasks. Thanks to its integrative and simple design, the robot precisely meets all relevant standards in the food and beverage industry.
The Krones Contiform family of blow molders, used to produce PET bottles, is now in its fourth generation, the only one of its kind. In this latest version, the focus was on sustainability and technification, two aspects of concern to all those involved. This time, intelligent elements such as Contiloop AI, Air Wizard Triple and Skip-and-Run have combined to reduce the CO2 emissions of the latest models by 16%.
The top international jury of the German Design Award was equally impressed by both solutions. Over the years, Krones has already won several design awards at regular intervals and has now written yet another chapter in its success story, proving once again that excellent solutions and sustainable technology can be optimally combined with superior design.
