Koenig & Bauer and Actega have agreed to extend their current eight-year partnership for an additional three years, effective November 1.

As in the past, significant focus will be placed on aspects such as the supply of starter kits with inline finishing products for the start-up of all newly installed Rapida presses; an agreement covering quality assurance and the joint development of a range of products and combined marketing activities, such as presentations in the context of trade fairs, user events and print demonstrations, as well as the production of print samples.

Many of the agreed activities and measures are aimed at providing direct benefits to users. This means that Actega will continue to be a reliable development partner for Koenig & Bauer in the future, for example, in work on optimizing the finishing processes used in LED-UV production. Actega coatings are constantly used in the press demonstration center operated by the press manufacturer and are presented there within the framework of customer events. This enables continuous quality control and product optimization processes for use on Koenig & Bauer’s high-performance sheetfed offset presses.

Increasingly, visual and haptic effects of the highest quality are being produced on Rapida sheetfed offset presses with corresponding inline coating systems. It is certain that new effects and coating qualities will continue to emerge.

Jan Franz Allerkamp, head of the Paper & Board business line at Actega, said: “The extension of the partnership agreement allows us to continue our successful cooperation. Together, we are defining future standards in terms of production speeds and finishing options for high-quality packaging and other printed products. Working together with Koenig & Bauer, we are helping to create a perfect balance between sustainability and finishing.”

Dirk Winkler, head of process and print technology and product management at Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed, commented, “Our cooperation with Actega has enabled us to advance the development of a whole range of finishing technologies in recent years. I am already looking forward to continuing this process, which directly benefits our users.”
