Karen Graley has been appointed by the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), in conjunction with the Packaging Industry and Environment Council (INCPEN), as head of the Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in the field of packaging.
Karen has 30 years’ experience leading packaging strategy, innovation and execution at major UK retailers such as Safeway and Waitrose, and most recently in her role as head of packaging at Marks and Spencer.
With an extensive track record to her credit, Karen has led packaging strategy and execution for major retailers, serving as Head of Packaging at Marks and Spencer and as a founding Board member of the On-Pack Recycling Label scheme.
The PRO will work on behalf of all obligated producers to promote improvements to the UK recycling system, ensuring that resources raised through the EPR are invested in increasing recycling rates and creating a circular economy for packaging.
