INX International Ink Co. a global leader in the manufacture of high-performance inks and coatings for commercial, packaging and digital applications, has released its first Sustainability Report. This comprehensive 36-page report provides a complete overview of the company’s evolving practices.
The brand reaffirms its commitment to becoming a greener company, translating this focus into cutting-edge ink solutions and technology that enable world-class printing standards. Since the introduction of its Coloring a Safe and Sustainable Future (CSSF) model in 2020, aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, INX has been steadily developing new products and processes.
The report focuses on three impact areas within the CSSF model such as Product Design for the Environment: INX strives to create products that create value for customers and protect the planet. The formulations of its inks consider the functionality of the finished product and its recyclability; the design of processes for the Environment: INX’s manufacturing process optimization supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals; Social responsibility: INX is committed to taking care of its equipment and contributing positively to society.
As Director of Metal Decoration Technology at INX, Alex Folloso leads the product design engagement. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Chicago 27 years ago, Folloso works tirelessly to formulate inks and coatings that balance health, safety, environmental impact and performance.
“We apply the CSSF model in our day-to-day business and formulate all of our metal decorating products with material health, safety, environmental impact and performance in mind,” Folloso said. He joined INX after graduating from the University of Illinois, Chicago 27 years ago.
“Each research and development group at INX continues to hire chemists and technicians to develop new inks and coatings. We are adding more resources to keep up with new applications,” Folloso said.
Folloso said. In addition, his department was responsible for the development of EcoCan C2C, the industry’s first metal decorating ink to receive a Cradle to Cradle certificate.
