Innovus Engineering announced the launch of its latest innovation, the KW-2 Twin Head Keg Washer, designed to improve operational efficiency and simplify keg cleaning processes in craft breweries.

Built with durability and practicality at its core, the KW-2 responds to the growing demand for in-house keg washing solutions among breweries. The system offers an affordable, high-quality alternative for brewers considering investing in stainless steel kegs, given the limited availability of reusable kegs on a contract basis.

“The KW-2 was born out of conversations with brewers who were frustrated by the lack of efficient and cost-effective keg washing solutions.” said Michael McClue, Commercial Director at Innovus Engineering. “We wanted to create a high-quality, simple and uncomplicated keg washer that allows breweries to confidently invest in their own stainless steel kegs.” The KW-2 is not only designed for performance, but also affordability, with the base unit priced at under £11,000, making it a cost-effective investment for breweries of all sizes.

The concept for the KW-2 came about in September, driven by Francesco Lo Bue, Technical Sales Leader at Innovus and former brewer at UK breweries Beavertown and Redchurch. His industry experience was key in collaborating with the Innovus design team to develop a machine that met the practical needs of brewers.

“Our goal was to design a barrel washer that would be robust and easy to use, ensuring that it would integrate seamlessly into brewery operations,” Francesco added.

Key features of the KW-2 Twin Head Keg Washer:
⦁ Integrated Caustic Tank: Includes a heating element, temperature sensor and level sensor, with adjustable temperature control via a Siemens HMI touch screen.

⦁ Sanitation Options: Available in two sanitation variants: steam and peracetic acid (PA), to suit the unique requirements of breweries. The PA variant includes an additional storage tank and valves for seamless integration.

⦁ High Performance: Capable of cleaning up to 60 barrels per hour with the steam variant and up to 40 barrels per hour with the peracetic acid variant.

⦁ Cost-effective: Base unit priced below £11,000, offering exceptional value for breweries investing in in-house keg washing solutions.

⦁ Compatibility: Uses standard barrel couplers, available in various connections, connected via 1″ brewery hoses with tri-clamp couplings for easy setup.

⦁ Easy to Use Operation: Operators attach the coupler to the barrel, invert it and place it on the machine table for efficient cleaning.

The KW-2 is now available for order, offering breweries a reliable and cost-effective solution to improve their keg washing processes while maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency.
