ACTEGA, Brasilata Labs and Crea-Imprime launched their INNOCAN technology ™️ for digital offset printing.
In partnership with Brasilata Labs and Actega, HP Indigo is introducing digital offset printing for the can industry with Innocan technology. Until now, can makers have faced the challenge of efficiently printing short to medium runs with special designs, as shorter runs are often associated with high costs.

The market for smaller size cans has been experiencing growth due to the demand for customized designs. This is where Innocan comes in with its innovative and cost-effective solutions. This high-performance technology allows the lamination of high quality digitally printed films on tinplate.
Innocan is an innovation led by the Brasilata Labs organization in partnership with Actega, to replace the can decoration process used in the past. HP Indigo, which has the most advanced digital technology and 10,000 digital presses worldwide, is also involved in this initiative. This has led to improved results through serialization, customization and short and medium runs for this industry.

Gidi Amir of HP Indigo talked about how his company contributes to this exciting project with its LEP technology, digital printing, short turnaround time and customized production. In addition, they offer the industry a variety of branding inks and graphics generated specifically for different campaigns. They are very happy that this will now open up new economic business opportunities by reducing storage costs.

Brasilata Labs CEO, Gabriel Zaragüeta, highlighted the relevance of the technology they are developing following their collaboration with Actega and HP Indigo. This innovation, called Innocan, offers a more efficient, cleaner and improved way to print on cans something that was previously found only on paper and labels and the executive added that it is the technology the industry has been looking for, and offers a faster, cleaner and better way to print cans.

A new technique for printing decorative foils called Innocan is environmentally friendly and reduces printing costs by providing up to 50,000 1-liter cans with 2,400 sheets. If that number is exceeded, then HP Indigo turns out to be much cheaper, associated with sharper image quality. This ink is food safe, allows for an artistic finish and comes in a variety of different cans and applications.
