Industrial Physics, a leading global provider of packaging, product and materials testing and measurement, has appointed Michael Jacobsen as Vice President, Global Operations and Supply Chain.

Michael, who has been with the company for several months, brings significant experience in quality and development within regulated industries and will bring over twenty years of experience to the team.

The news follows a series of announcements from Industrial Physics in the second half of 2023, in particular the appointments of the new CEO and CCO. Michael’s addition to the company further illustrates the moves being made to support the consolidation of the global brand proposition and an ambitious growth strategy.

As Vice President of Global Operations and Supply Chain, Michael will be responsible for evaluating and refining the global strategy, with a focus on quality, delivery and manufacturing efficiency.

Prior to joining Industrial Physics, Michael worked as a brewmaster and filling line manager at Carlsberg, and held various senior positions in companies operating in regulated industries, such as Danaher Corporation and Spectris. He has solid experience in supply chain and delivery transformation, with quality as a clear focus.

On his new position, Michael Jacobsen commented: “The opportunity to join Industrial Physics appealed to me because, ultimately, I am driven by purpose. At Industrial Physics, the company’s goal is to protect the integrity of its customers’ brands and products. This is more important than ever in today’s packaging landscape, with the enormous level of innovation and uncharted territory. I am incredibly proud to have joined Industrial Physics to support these efforts and ensure the quality and safety of the packaging industry.”

Michael continued: “My first few weeks with the company have already been a great introduction to the level of experience and untapped potential that we will use to accelerate towards our growth objectives in the coming months. One of my biggest responsibilities will be to ensure that, as a company, we continually improve the quality we deliver to our customers.”

Barry Lyon, Managing Director of Industrial Physics, comments on Michael’s arrival: “Michael is a fantastic addition to our Industrial Physics team. Since his arrival, he has already visited and hit the ground running at each of our manufacturing sites around the world. He has been and is working with our operations and supply chain teams to support our growth objectives for this year. Michael’s responsibilities will ensure that every step we take as a company is based on quality and how best to support our customers.”
