The most recent Eviosys survey revealed that more than 2,000 consumers and 600 European business leaders in industries such as manufacturing, retail and consumer packaged goods have changed their attitudes towards sustainable packaging. This change is remarkable according to the results obtained from the survey.
More and more companies are investing in sustainable solutions, as 90% of European companies have decided to investigate or implement these solutions. However, so far only a small percentage of 3% have made a significant investment in this area.

Despite the trend towards the use of sustainable packaging, there are many challenges that companies face in making the transition. According to a survey, 33% of companies consider cost to be the biggest obstacle, followed by concerns such as consumer interest (19%), supply chain issues (19%), regulatory compliance (12%) and availability of suitable materials (14%).
There is great optimism for the future use of recyclable packaging, with 45% of companies planning to use fully recyclable packaging within 1-3 years and 90% planning to do so within the next decade.

According to the results obtained, most consumers are willing to pay a higher price for products that come in sustainable packaging and 82% are more likely to buy products in metal packaging due to its infinite capacity to be recycled. This preference not only reflects a concern for sustainability, but also an evolution in consumer values, with 70% considering reuse and recycling more important than sophistication or unique packaging design.
