Hyperion Materials & Technologies acquires NanoDiamond Products.

Hyperion Materials & Technologies recently announced the completion of the acquisition of NanoDiamond Products (NDP), a solution provider of synthetic diamond and cubic boron nitride (CBN) products.

Hyperion Materials & Technologies is a world leader in advanced materials with decades of experience in the development and manufacture of tungsten carbide powders, cemented carbide, industrial diamond and cubic boron nitride products.

This transaction will expand its position as the world’s leading supplier of synthetic diamonds and CBN products enabling it to further support customers in many industries including stone cutting, electronics, oil and gas and tool manufacturing. “NDP does a phenomenal job of serving its customers in the stone and construction markets.

This business is completely complementary to Hyperion’s and we believe the combined resources give us the opportunity to better serve more customers in a broader geography and in a wider range of end-user markets,” said Ron Voigt, CEO of Hyperion, according to a note published on its website. For his part, Karl Tuffy, executive director of NDP, commented according to the note:

“Hyperion has been at the forefront of the industrial diamond industry since producing the world’s first synthetic diamonds in the 1950s.

NDP’s passion and focus is to serve the diamond and superabrasive needs of our customers, and we are very excited to be part of Hyperion to further enhance the value of our offerings.”
