HUBERGROUP LAUNCHES NEW MODULAR WATER-BASED INK SYSTEM

Hydro X Green Line Premium is the new water-based ink system that the German company Hubergroup has just launched to offer greater sustainability and flexibility to printers and packaging manufacturers.

In this way, the company’s aim was to achieve a wide range of colours and an extensive field of application combined with sustainability. “We wanted to produce our entire range sustainably and offer customers the flexibility to choose the components that best suit their packaging,” explains Christian Schirrmacher, Global Project Manager Water Based Inks at Hubergroup.

In addition, any customer can choose exactly the components of the portfolio that their products need, thanks to the system of combinable elements. All components are Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze, allowing the packaging to be sustainable and colourful at the same time.

The company is working with the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute to research and improve the effects of all components of the color mixing system on the environment. The centre also awards certification based on its Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard, which covers comprehensive criteria for material health, material reuse, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship and social justice.
