Hubergroup Deutschland was recently recognized by receiving a silver medal from EcoVadis, the industry’s leading independent provider of sustainability ratings. The entity stood out among the top 20% of the more than 100,000 companies rated so far, obtaining one of the best results achieved by EcoVadis.

Specifically, to determine the degree of sustainability practiced by companies, EcoVadis subjects them to a thorough evaluation process. In this way, they can evaluate how they carry out environmental management, ethical and legal use of human resources and sustainable procurement. In addition, EcoVadis’ efforts to promote sustainability since 2007 have yielded positive results for hubergroup Deutschland, which ranks among the top 20 percent of companies evaluated in terms of their social standards.

By the 1990s, hubergroup stood out from other production sites in Germany because it was the first to implement the ISO 9001 quality management system. Other systems followed, such as those related to the environment, labor welfare and energy. In this way, hubergroup also became part of the Responsible Care project through which it committed itself to complying with regulations above and beyond those already regulated by law.

Carsten Zölzer, general manager of hubergroup Deutschland, emphasized that the EcoVadis rating demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainability. “Our guiding principle is: we take a holistic view of sustainability and continuously drive the circular economy. Therefore, we take many big and small steps to make our actions and our products more environmentally friendly,” explained Carsten Zölzer, CEO of hubergroup Deutschland,” he said.

“We are proud to belong to the top 25% of the participants evaluated by EcoVadis. However, our result serves as a signal for the promotion of sustainable business, as we want to further stimulate the development of such activity,” concluded the German manager.
