German company Hinterkopf GmbH has introduced its latest innovation in industrial equipment: the X250S impact extrusion press, specifically designed for the efficient production of small aluminum aerosol cans.

The X250S is part of Hinterkopf’s advanced X series, characterized by its precision, reliability, and high performance. This series includes models adapted to various applications:

  • X150S: oriented towards aluminum tube production
  • X250S: specialized in small aerosol cans
  • X300S and X400S: prepared for larger can formats

The X250S press features a modified knuckle-joint drive design that optimizes carriage movement: it accelerates smoothly, reduces impact, and ensures more uniform and precise part formation. This design allows for a nominal force stroke of 20 mm, surpasses conventional machines, and favors both production speed and final product quality.

Additionally, it incorporates a hydrostatic carriage guide that eliminates wear, improves precision, and extends tool life, as well as a servo-NC slug feeding system to achieve rates of up to 300 pieces per minute, with smooth and vibration-free handling. The press also offers a hydraulic clamping and self-centering system for tool changes in just a few minutes, simplifying the process and reducing downtime.

The X250S is compatible with Hinterkopf’s aluminum cylinder production lines, aimed at industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food, where high levels of geometric and surface quality are required.

Furthermore, the company offers installation, commissioning, maintenance, spare parts, and upgrade services, ensuring continuous technical support.

According to Hinterkopf’s Managing Director, Alexander Hinterkopf, the X250S represents a significant evolution following the acquisition and transformation of Schuler designs six years ago, achieving substantial improvements in slug feeding, part extraction, and operational ergonomics, without compromising staff safety.
