London’s Hackney Church Brew Co is named after the parish church across the street.

General manager Hamish Glenn and head brewer Jacob Hobbs have created a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy tasty beers and food. Their mission: to take locally sourced quality ingredients and create beers that are perfectly conditioned, affordable and full of flavor. The state-of-the-art brewery produces a wide range of styles, with seasonal specials alongside its seasonal specials alongside its newly released core beers. As part of their community focus, they also support other local breweries, both large and small.

In the spring of 2022, the brewpub took advantage of a grant from the city council to expand its offerings by investing in a canning line, investing in a canning line, investing in a canning line. After studying the available equipment options, they chose an Innovus Engineering CF15 automatic canning line from Innovus Engineering’s CF15 automatic canning line. The CF15 is the latest model in the CF range, a compact two-head canning line with a production capacity of 1,000 cans per hour. Innovus has designed the CF15 to fill an important gap in the beverage canning line market. Despite being a compact machine, it has all the features expected by the industry, such as an automated cap dispenser and covert gasification, as well as a pre-fill purge and post-fill gas injection for consistently low dissolved oxygen levels.

The CF15 fills and closes standard, slim and sleek cans, and changeovers between different can heights are quick and easy. Advantages over other machines on the market include fully adjustable filling and smooth, even can conveying of cans to minimize dissolved oxygen pickup, plus a separate motor for the air blower to prevent pressure drop in the compressed air line to the machine plus two CO2 purge tubes before the filling heads, This is useful if the canning line is left temporarily unattended, the built-in timer automatically purges again if the canning timeout exceeds the limit set by the operator.

In designing the new CF15, Innovus also improved the statistical records and trends available on the HMI touch screen, and a new can per minute counter has been added. If the canning process has a specific number of cans to fill and close, the machine will stop and display an alarm when the desired number of cans is reached.

Pressure fluctuation at the top of the tank can be a problem in CO2 supply with a standard regulator. To solve this problem and eliminate CO2 leakage, the CF15 has an adjustable pressure monitor built into the control panel. A pressure sensor monitors the pressure of the incoming beer as the CO2 supply reaches the control panel, passes through a solenoid that microdoses CO2 at the top of the tank, maintaining product pressure in the filler.

To increase the level of automation and allow its canning line to be operated by a single person, Hackney Church Brew Co also invested in two Innovus integrated rotary tables for can feeding and picking. Other optional equipment for the CF15 includes a date coder and a can labeling machine.

The integrity of the double seal is vital in canning. All Innovus can seamers have a mechanical seamer that provides significantly more consistent performance than pneumatic operation. Its machines are supplied with a complete tool kit, including a fastener micrometer and a tool for customers to perform accurate seam checks.

The acquisition of an Innovus canning line has enabled Hackney Church Brew Co to launch its new canned beer range and increase its production of canned beer and increase its presence in the small pack market.

Innovus canners are manufactured in the UK and training, service and spare parts are available. 32,500 pounds, the starting price of the CF15 automatic canning line is a competitive price for craft breweries that want to start canning in-house.
