GUALA FRANÇAISE FASTENER PLANT ACHIEVES ISCC PLUS CERTIFICATION

The certificate awarded by Bureau Veritas Certification guarantees the quality and durability of the products and services offered at the Chambray-lès-Tours plant. This is the group’s second facility to receive it, after the Italian Spinetta Marengo, the group’s historic headquarters.

Guala Closures, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of safety caps for bottles worldwide, recently obtained the ‘International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus’ for its French plant in Chambrayles-Tours.

This certification is the second production site obtained by the group, after the Italian plant. Recently, Spinetta Marengo, the group’s historic headquarters, received the certification last December. The certification issued by Bureau Veritas Certification – one of the world leaders in inspection testing and certification – certifies that the wine screw caps produced by Guala Closures at its Chambray-lès-Tours factory, which contain ISCC Plus certified plastic, meet the sustainability requirements for “circular packaging” and “bio-circular packaging” based on a mass balance.

ISCC Plus accreditation is a tool that helps companies to determine and confirm the traceability of products, allowing them to provide greater transparency about the provenance of their products.

The products comprise elements such as recycled and organic materials, along with a commitment to ensure their viability over time. This approach represents the company’s firm commitment to supporting the circular economy and acting responsibly.

Guala Closures has been fulfilling its responsibilities in the field of sustainable development for more than a decade, actively participating to achieve it. In 2020, the company introduced a more eco-friendly product line: the Blossom® Sustainable EC losures – designed according to the group’s eco-design guidelines in order to reduce its environmental impact.

Finally, in September 2021, Guala Closures joined the United Nations Global Compact in order to share, support and implement the ten sustainability principles set out in the Compact.
