The site supplies national and international customers with well-known beverages such as Robinsons, Tango and J2O.
A recent £20 million investment, added to the £5 million committed to the Lutterworth site over the past three years, has resulted in significant improvements and upgrades to the technical systems and facilities required for efficient warehouse and logistics operations.
As a result of the investment, the site now has 17 new automated cranes, 18 dispatch lanes for loading trucks and 20 automated vehicles to transport pallets around the warehouse, with the capacity to move 600 pallets per hour from the warehouse to its customers.
Nigel Paine, Supply Chain Director at Britvic, commented that this state-of-the-art facility allows them to continue to offer customers the wide range of Britvic products that, while providing their employees with a dynamic working environment that supports their best performance.
During a typical year, 75,000 trucks, carrying 1.9 million pallets to more than 900 locations, pass through the distribution center’s security checkpoint.
This investment will allow more trucks to enter to accommodate the increased number of pallets.
As part of the investment, the distribution center offers renovated office and meeting spaces, in line with Britvic’s Working Well approach to flexible working, ensuring a modern and comfortable working environment where employees and visitors can collaborate.
The site now has 10 brand new electric vehicle charging stations for employees, including a new 47kw DC fast charger.
