The Parque de Cabecera in Valencia hosts these days a giant mosaic of cans to raise awareness about recycling and environmental care. The construction, which measures 12 meters long by four meters wide, you can read the message ‘We are already 25,000’ and has been made with cans and plastic bottles.
This initiative serves to thank citizens who recycle through RECICLOS, the Return and Reward System (RDS) created by Ecoembes. In this original way, Ecoembes wants to simultaneously recognize the commitment of citizens to the environment and continue to encourage the recycling of cans and plastic bottles through social and environmental rewards.
This initiative, which has been taking place in the city since last March, aims to encourage the recycling of cans and plastic beverage bottles through social and environmental rewards. Next to the mosaic, an exhibition has been organized that shows the eight projects developed in Valencia thanks to the donation of RECICLOS points to the collective incentives, as well as an informative display about this system.
The manager of Ecoembes in the Valencian Community, Xavier Balagué, is very satisfied with the involvement of citizens in the system and its social and environmental causes: “It is a sign of awareness of Valencian society, not only with recycling, but with their own city and its neighbors,” he says.
In the capital of the Turia there are already about 3,200 yellow containers that have RECICLOS technology, in addition to 21 machines located in sports centers, municipal buildings and markets, where you can recycle packaging and get rewards for doing so.
