UK-based curing systems manufacturer GEW will introduce two new high-performance LED products at Labelexpo Americas 2024, further expanding its already diverse product portfolio. The AeroLED2 will be launched as a refined successor to GEW’s air-cooled AeroLED UV curing system, while the LeoLED2 takes LED performance to new heights, surpassing the already acclaimed water-cooled LeoLED system.

The AeroLED2 offers a higher power level compared to the original AeroLED model, enabling faster printing in a variety of applications. In addition, it is now available for wider web widths to accommodate more presses in the narrow web market.

The AeroLED2 retains the key attributes of the previous model: it
is ArcLED compatible, meaning it can be easily interchanged with GEW’s Arc lamp systems, and it retains GEW’s unique centralized fan cooling architecture.

The LeoLED2 introduces two power level options to GEW’s acclaimed water-cooled system. The regular power option offers modest improvements over the original LeoLED, while maintaining backward compatibility. However, the high power option offers revolutionary increases in UV irradiance and dosage, surpassing its predecessor and offering unprecedented performance for the most extreme curing challenges in the packaging market.

The LeoLED2 retains the key attributes of the previous model: it
is ArcLED compatible, which means it can be easily interchanged with GEW’s Arc lamp systems, and offers the same level of temperature control and condensation protection. It is also fully backward compatible with LeoLED, featuring the same connections and external dimensions.

Although GEW will be presenting its full range at Labelexpo Americas, the focus will be on its renowned label and narrow web products. GEW is uniquely positioned in the UV curing market and is able to offer a solution for almost any printing, coating and converting application, thanks to the breadth of its product range in both UV Arc and UV LED curing technologies.

GEW will also highlight its renowned ‘ArcLED’ technology, whereby Arc UV and UV LED lamp heads can be simply and quickly interchanged on a press. ArcLED capability is available in almost all types of GEW system installations, whether for narrow, medium or wide web machinery, and in a wide range of applications. With ArcLED, both Arc and LED cassettes are compatible with the same power supply and fit in the same housing, providing maximum flexibility on press.

Another benefit of ArcLED is that it allows the customer to invest in any combination of Arc and LED in the short term, with the assurance that the investment is future-proofed. The UV system configuration can be changed or completely upgraded to LED at a later date, with minimal disruption.

Robert Rae, General Sales Manager at GEW, comments: “We have a lot to offer the customer, in such a wide range of UV curing applications. Now, with the introduction of AeroLED2 and LeoLED2 to our range, we have the most reliable and highest performing LED systems on the market.”

He concludes, “We look forward to welcoming customers old and new to our booth, and having the opportunity to showcase these innovative new products. We believe the AeroLED2 will become the default UV curing solution for labels and narrow web, as its capabilities have now expanded to serve the entire market.”
