Fiesta Jones, a new line of soft drinks aimed specifically at small retailers, is about to hit the market from craft soft drink maker Jones Soda Co. The line features four Latin-inspired flavors with less than half the calories and sugar of standard soft drinks. It will be sold in aluminum bottles with resealable screw caps.

Launching in convenience stores this month, Fiesta Jones will be available in Strawberry Watermelon, Passion Fruit Mango, Lemon Coconut and Guava Berry flavors. Each 16-ounce bottle contains 80 calories and 19 grams of sugar, with no caffeine or artificial colors.

The new beverage will be available through food redistributor Dot Foods, Mount Sterling, Illinois, and through direct store delivery (DSD) or general line distributors. Ultimate Sales, of Savannah, Georgia, is Jones Soda’s agent for convenience stores.

“Convenience store operators have told us that their customers are looking for a soft drink with great taste, fewer calories and a resealable package. Nothing on the market met that description, so we developed Fiesta Jones to fill that void,” said David Knight, CEO of Jones Soda.said David Knight, CEO of Jones Soda. “This line gives us the opportunity to establish a strong presence in the convenience store channel for the first time in many years and adds another key building block in the strategic initiatives we are implementing to expand beyond our craft soda roots.”

Those initiatives include the introduction of new products, such as the launch of Jones’ first cola and sugar-free cola products, as well as a natural prebiotic beverage with less sugar called Pop Jones, launched last month. Other recent additions to the Jones Soda portfolio include Jones Minis, 7.5-ounce cans with four favorite Jones flavors; Jones+, featuring popular Jones flavors with added caffeine; and Spiked Jones, alcoholic craft sodas that combine six flavors of Jones cane sugar sodas with alcoholic ciders.
Jones is also experiencing growth in its Mary Jones crossover brand, in legal cannabis markets, as well as in the HD9 space, which it entered earlier this year, the company reported.

Launched in 1996, Seattle-based Jones Soda develops cannabis-infused soft drinks and beverages. It markets a portfolio of soft drinks, mixers and wellness beverages under the Jones Soda brand, as well as a line of cannabis beverages and edibles that leverage Jones’ signature flavors under the Mary Jones brand.
