The traveling exhibition “The cans of your life” that has successfully toured several Spanish cities, this time moves to Madrid, where it can be visited from May 26 until July 12 at the Casa de Cultura Giralt Laporta de Valdemorillo.

“For our neighbors and for visitors in general who want to come, this is a great opportunity to see how a seemingly simple object and so used daily contains a great value, as an exponent of all that involves the process of its manufacture, taking care of all the details so that it reaches our hands with the desired quality and can also be recycled again and again, “says the Councillor for Education and Culture, Eva Ruiz, who does not stop inviting “to all to pass by this sample, because in addition to being very striking has a great educational component, both for the youngest and for adults.

The exhibition, which takes a journey through the history of cans, shows exceptional cans such as the “Krueger” can, the first beverage can in the world and dating from 1935; the “Coronation Beer” (1937) made to celebrate the coronation of King George VI of England or even the first beverage can that was marketed in Spain in 1966 (Skol beer). The visitor will also be able to enjoy a whole display of innovative cans and striking designs that make up a very interesting vision of the uses that have been given to these containers throughout history.

The exhibition also reveals the secrets of the infinite recycling of metal containers, such as steel or aluminium, which can be recycled indefinitely, without losses of any kind, with energy savings and the consequent sustainability, as long as the end consumer deposits it in the yellow container.
