On June 29 and 30, metal packaging supplier Eviosys presented at ADF Paris a unique QR code for its products that enables personalized purchasing through a commitment to sustainability. EvioLink is a unique QR code, printed directly on each product, that offers manufacturers and end consumers a solution to today’s major challenges: sustainable development, traceability, anti-counterfeiting and a personalized shopping experience.

The new technology developed by Eviosys allows brands to link specific content to QR codes, mainly in online sales. In addition, it also shows a unique experience for the people who consume the product.

When the QR is scanned, it will be possible to confirm if duplicate or incorrect codes have been recorded. According to a study published by the EUIPO, Europol and the OECD, counterfeiting costs Europe more than €15 billion annually. In case of product recalls, ‘EvioLink’ allows to prevent problems arising on the products and to visit all the steps related to their production and commercialization.

Brands will be able to quickly stop the distribution of a defective product and thus avoid many problems in their supply chain. Brands will also be able to scan products along the corresponding process until it gets data on different aspects such as atmospheric carbon from transportation.

Consumers across Europe will benefit from this revamped shopping experience when buying online now that the system offers the ability to incorporate proprietary content along with text, photos, digital maps, videos and more. With approximately 30 million blind or visually impaired people in Europe, ‘EvioLink’ will be able to provide them with key information.

In addition, Eviosys is the company that offers this solution for manufacturers, as it directly prints the QR codes on the packaging. Until now, this process has been carried out at the plant located in Châtillon-sur-Seine, France. Manufacturers could implement this solution in all Eviosys Group plants in Europe. Thus, they will start a new project that will drive growth and development.

Isabelle Le Graët, Evialink’s Marketing & Communication Manager and Sustainability, also revealed that they are constantly innovating through changes in their packaging to offer the best for their consumers. “We evolve our collection whenever we have new innovative ideas. We offer a unique QR code incorporated into the package design to achieve a better relationship with our customers,” adds the communications manager.
