The metal packaging manufacturer Eviosys, present in Concarneau in Finistère since 1924, has announced a new investment that will represent a significant financial injection amounting to nearly 12 million euros. The objective is none other than to modernize part of its fleet at its La Villeneuve and Kersalé sites. Every year, Eviosys Concarneau manufactures and sells 500 million metal containers for the most important brands in the food industry: Bonduelle, Eureden (D’Aucy) and Bolton Saupiquet.

Eviosys Concarneau, the flagship of the U.S. giant’s local economy, is one of the group’s seven production sites in France. “Our two sites are complementary and recognized for their know-how in printed metal boxes. At Kersalé, we work with flat sheet metal. The sheets are varnished and decorated by stamping. They are then sent to La Villeneuve to be processed according to three standard formats: the 3-piece cylindrical box with a corrugated bottom, suitable for canned vegetables, fruit and cooked dishes,” details Maël Chevalier, director of Eviosys Concarneau.

Two new easy-to-open bottom lines have been installed at the Kersalé site. “The machines are more efficient and reliable while providing greater working comfort for operators. This gives us one of the most modern sites in Europe for the manufacture of easy-opening box bottoms, the rectangular format of which has become Kersalé’s specialty,” adds Maël Chevalier. In addition, a new 7-color offset printing line replaces an old two-color press. It will allow, in a single pass, high quality prints.
