Every Can Counts returned to the Download Festival with a series of impactful and visually striking activations. These included two motorized soapbox cars: the original Every Can Counts vehicle and the new and improved version of the “Chitty Chitty Can Can”, which achieved a remarkable third place in the 2024 Red Bull Soapbox Race. Both toured the festival grounds, capturing the attention of the public in every corner.

One of the most photographed spots were the huge can-shaped cages that made up the word “DOWNLOAD”, completely filled with empty cans before Sunday ended.

The Canzee mascot, created with about 300 recycled beverage cans, was also present interacting with attendees, posing for selfies, and promoting the message of recycling in a close and fun way.

Over the weekend, more than 25,000 empty cans were collected through different initiatives: from interactive “voting”-type containers to a team of recycling ambassadors who toured the festival with can-shaped backpacks. In addition, those who recycled received sustainable rewards such as T-shirts with the slogan Metal Never Dies or keychains made from recycled aluminum.

More than 1,700 people participated in a themed recycling quiz, demonstrating that Download Festival fans are not only passionate about music, but also aware of the environmental impact and committed to sustainability.
