The Every Can Counts organization, in collaboration with the City Council, has launched the environmental awareness campaign ‘Your can, in the yellow bin’ for the fifth consecutive summer, with the aim of promoting recycling on the beaches of Cádiz.

The presentation took place this Wednesday in the Plaza de la Estrella and was attended by the Deputy Mayor and Head of the Environment and Beaches Area, José Carlos Teruel, together with Francisco Javier Oliva, coordinator of Every Can Counts in Cádiz, and representatives of Horeca and the Association of Street Vendors of cans.

During his speech, Teruel highlighted the work carried out by the entity in terms of recycling and environmental education, especially in large events such as Carnival and Sail GP, thanking them for their constant involvement.

For his part, Oliva recalled that this is the fifth consecutive summer raising awareness about the importance of recycling cans, a type of packaging especially common in beach environments during the summer season.

This year’s campaign will include the presence of two environmental educators equipped with collection backpacks who, every weekend in August, will tour the beaches of Cortadura, Victoria, Santa María del Mar and La Caleta to inform users and promote good recycling practices.
