As part of its plan to transform itself into a sustainable company, the Spanish chemical group, Ercros, plans to launch eight projects at its Almussafes factory (Valencia) that will involve a combined investment of 6.5 million euros.

Half of this investment in Almussafes will be used to expand the production capacity of ErcrosTech, a range of technical resins for high performance applications (decorative laminates or can coatings for food use, among other products).

The Transformation Plan towards a sustainable company is based on three dimensions: Diversification, Digitalisation and Decarbonisation. And it is within it, which also intends, as part of the amount announced, to allocate 2.5 million to five digitization projects: increased automation for the optimization of processes through the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools; and the installation of sensors to monitor key parameters of the operation of the equipment.

The rest of the investment is directed towards decarbonisation projects to improve the energy efficiency of the factory.

Ecros is a Spanish industrial group with a century-old tradition, diversified into three areas of activity: Chlorine Derivatives Division, Intermediate Chemicals Division and Pharmaceuticals Division. It maintains a leading position in the main markets in which it operates and exports almost half of its sales to more than 103 countries, mainly in the EU.
