Members of the City Council of Port Huron, Michigan, in the United States, gave the go-ahead for the sale of a production site, which could allow Canadian aerosol manufacturer Empack Spraytech Inc. to come to the industrial site.
The City Council gave its approval for the sale of land encompassing about 50,000 to 80,000 square feet for the construction of an Empack Spraytech production facility.

The US$177,100 (€162,000) agreement was signed by Ara Nalbandian, who holds the position of vice president at Empack. According to Port Huron City Manager James Freed, Empack was certain to invest $40 million (equivalent to 36.5 million euros) to build a facility that would cover 80,000 square feet and generate 100 jobs.

“Sophisticated jobs that will pay a little bit more,” , he told the Port Huron Times Herald. “And they intend to start almost immediately. … We’ll set a closing date in the next two months, and they can start right away. They have many other facilities across Canada. This will be their first production facility in the United States. They want to be in Port Huron because of the proximity to Canadian markets and their other plants.”

The city manager mentioned that they were expected to be fully operational within two to three years.
