Rationalize energy use in order to provide much more energy and environmentally efficient production. In this way the energy saving projects achieve a more efficient production at Emballator in Ulricehamn, achieving a 10% improvement in energy efficiency in two years.
Ulrica Emanuelsson, quality and environmental manager at Emballator Metal Group in Ulricehamn, emphasizes that “thanks to the implementation of many different initiatives, we now consume less energy per manufactured product. We have also taken a step closer to climate neutrality. During the 2019-2021 period, we have reduced energy consumption by 10% per product manufactured in kilograms.”
“We have also invested in new LED lighting in Ulricehamn and at our Nybro factory. Charging stations have been installed for employees driving electric cars, as well as motion sensors on our faucets. But the environmental impact is not limited to the amount of energy used, but also to the type of energy used,” says Ulrica Emanuelsson.
“Among other things, we have installed a new UV curing paint printing machine that runs on electricity instead of LPG. Currently, just under 40% of our total energy consumption consists of electricity, and the electricity we use comes from environmentally friendly sources. In recent years we have taken several important steps towards our goal of becoming climate-neutral,” concludes Emanuelsson.
