Ecoembes, the non-profit environmental organization that coordinates the recycling of household packaging in Spain, has announced that it is strengthening its governance model with the incorporation of an Advisory Council to monitor and make proposals for its Strategic Plan (CAPE).
The new advisory council, which will meet three times a year, is made up of 11 representatives from fields as diverse as environmentalism, innovation, sustainability, consumption and trade unions. Its main functions include advising on strategic positioning, as well as assessing the degree of progress of the initiatives implemented by the organization, so that its debates, conclusions and proposals contribute to the organization’s decision-making process.
“The new advisory council is an exceptional space in our renewed governance model and a unique opportunity to build our best version, based on collective intelligence. It will undoubtedly be of enormous value in advancing our firm commitment to circularity, based on openness and shared value,” says Begoña de Benito, secretary of the CAPE and director of External Relations at Ecoembes.
The main competencies of this new council will include assessing the regulatory, social, economic and business context; evaluating the progress and projects implemented to date under the strategic plan, as well as the degree of alignment of the plan with Ecoembes’ different stakeholders; and, finally, considering their expectations and suggesting lines and proposals for improvement in strategic matters that need to be activated or reinforced.
