The Australian company East Coast Canning + Printing, based in New South Wales, has introduced BulletProof, its revolutionary new digital can, considered the most durable on the market.

This innovation sets a new standard in direct digital printing on aluminum packaging, combining extreme resistance, high-quality finishes such as matte and spot gloss, and a strong commitment to sustainability. East Coast founder and CEO Chris Kelly emphasized that they waited until they could guarantee a product that met their quality requirements before offering matte finishes, which are traditionally vulnerable to scratches.

The new BulletProof has been designed to withstand demanding conditions in today’s supply chain: from pasteurization processes to bumps and scrapes in refrigerators or transport. In addition, it eliminates the need for labels or plastic sleeves, which facilitates recycling and has prevented more than 33 tons of plastic waste in the last two years.

Among the first to adopt this technology is the brewery Yulli’s Brews, which has launched its new beverage Urban Classic Cactus Ranch Water in a white and green can with a BulletProof matte finish. “You can feel the quality,” said James Harvey, master brewer of the brand.

In addition to its durability, BulletProof cans allow greater design freedom with CMYK colors, metallic finishes, tactile textures, and without compromising aesthetics or recyclability.

The new line will initially be applied in 375 ml formats and select Sleek sizes of 330 and 355 ml, with plans to expand to 440 and 500 ml next year. It is designed for a wide range of beverages: beer, wine, coffee, water, and ready-to-drink (RTD) products.
