DRT Holdings announced the purchase of U.S.-based Custom Machining Corporation (CMC) for an undisclosed sum. And that is why CMC will now become part of DRT’s Metal Packaging Systems (DRT MPS) segment. DRT MPS also develops an easy-open pull-top that is mainly used in food and beverage cans.
Founded in 2002 by Terri and Allan Ross, the company supplies rotary end coating systems to the metal packaging industry worldwide and parts for metal packaging applications serving the household, food and beverage markets.
Its diverse range of high-performance end coating systems is designed to accurately apply food-safe liquid compounds to metal cap interiors at speeds of nearly 6,000 caps per minute.
Following the aforementioned announcement DRT MPS President Larry Churchwell noted: “CMC is a highly complementary business to DRT MPS, and we are very excited to enhance the suite of solutions we provide to our respective customer bases. CMC is highly respected for its quality, technical capabilities and customer service, which we will continue to strengthen under the DRT banner.”
Through this agreement, CMC will become part of DRT’s Metal Packaging Systems (DRT MPS) segment, expanding the MPS systems and spare parts offerings for the global food and beverage can industry. In addition, both companies will leverage their respective technical expertise to drive innovation and customer support at manufacturing, assembly and distribution facilities in North America and Europe.
