The Del Monte Foods, Inc. has been awarded Product of the Year in the food ingredients category for its Take Root Organics canned tomatoes. In addition, it also took the prize in the healthy snacks category for its fruit soft drinks.


Take Root Organics stood out by winning in the food ingredients category for its line of USDA-certified organic and GMO-free canned tomatoes. Their goal is to make organic produce more accessible to families, so they work with selected farms in central California to carefully grow their products. The line includes a variety of five products: sauce, diced tomatoes, paste, crushed tomatoes and whole peeled tomatoes.

The award “Product of the Year is the most prestigious award in the world, chosen by consumers to recognize product innovation. Winners are selected through a national survey conducted by Kantar, a leading market research company, with the participation of 40,000 consumers. This year marked the 16th edition of the award in the United States and more than 30 years worldwide. Del Monte Foods has launched a new line of tomatoes called Fruit Refreshers and Take Root Organics, which are available at major stores nationwide.
