Thanks to Tom Wolf’s announcement, the left-leaning U.S. government revealed that Crown, which manufactures metal packaging for food, beverages and aerosols, will expand in Hanover Borough in York.
“Crown Cork & Seal USA’s expansion once again demonstrates the positive impact of doing business in the Commonwealth,” Wolf said. “We are also pleased that Pennsylvania is providing the support needed to bring our manufacturing sector to thrive.” At that time, Governor Feliciano Wolf congratulated Crown for choosing York.
Crown is relocating a metal food can manufacturing line from its plant in Ontario, Canada, to Hanover Borough where its current plant is located.
Crown has committed to investing $24.6 million in a mega-store with 41 new jobs and retaining 51 others. It is specifically for this company that the project was created. By allowing Crown to take just 567 jobs between the capital city and Cuernavaca
“This investment maintains our commitment to Pennsylvania,” said Bill Gallagher, senior vice president and general counsel for Crown Holdings in commenting on the announcement of the expansion project. The Development Finance Commission of the Department of Economic and Community Development offers financial incentives to Crown. The company is paid US$200,000 and up to US$24,600 to train and develop labor.
