The City Council of Coria, Cáceres, has launched a new awareness campaign under the slogan “Recycling is easy if you know how!”, with the aim of reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. The initiative places special emphasis on the correct separation of waste, reminding citizens which types of materials should go into the yellow container.
Among the waste that should be deposited in this container, the council places special emphasis on metal packaging, highlighting its value in the recycling process. Beverage cans, food cans, aluminum trays, aerosols, metal caps, and rings are some of the items that can be recycled in this container. These materials, due to their high recovery and reuse capacity, play a fundamental role in the circular economy and in reducing environmental impact.
In addition to metal packaging, plastic containers should also be deposited in this container, such as bottles, jugs, wrappers, bags, or cleaning product containers, as well as milk, juice, or prepared food cartons.
The City Council reminds that correctly separating waste not only facilitates recycling but also directly contributes to the preservation of the natural environment. This campaign is one of many that the local entity carries out throughout the year, thus reinforcing its educational and environmental work.
Additionally, Coria has recently participated in an initiative promoted by Ecovidrio, in collaboration with the Junta de Extremadura, focused on the collection and recycling of glass containers, reaffirming its commitment to responsible urban waste management.
